New Player Guide

1Create your character

Pick one of 9 races. Your race decides your home town. Aegis start at level 70, ready to fight, in Thessalia Garrison. Every other race starts at level 1.

2Finish the tutorial

Most races wake up in the Tutorial Zone (Triton and Aegis start elsewhere, see below). Follow the glowing NPCs marked Step 1/15 to Step 15/15. You will equip your weapon, win your first fight, spend skill and stat points, use a shop, try forging and bind to an Omphalos.

At Step 15 the Gatekeeper sends you to your home town. Triton start in Triton's Birth, even though the creation screen's start box says Tutorial Zone. Aegis skip the tutorial.

3Check your bag

Press your inventory key. Most races start with a weapon for their class, a potion, 10 Town Portal Stones and a Mark of a New Adventurer (keep it: a quest needs it). Triton start with potions instead (no weapon, no portal stones); Aegis start with potions and two kinds of portal stones but no weapon. You start with 0 gold.

Double-click the stone to open a list of towns. On a Hero character it shows 6 (Hermoupolis Gate, Delos, Dodona, Pallene, Lemnos, Thessalia Garrison). Right-click only shows the item info. Hermoupolis Gate drops you in Fields of Demeter, just outside the city walls.

4Claim your gifts (Merged Inventory)

Open Merged Inventory. It has two tabs: Event (gifts for this character) and Mall (account items).

The Event tab holds your welcome pack:

• Tarprex mount (7 days, 140% speed) and a Gilded Ape pet
• 4 bags with 60 slots each
• Hero's Seals and enhancement stones
• A full Empyrean gear set. It needs total level 170 (for example level 115 + Hero Rank 50 + Divine Level 5), so keep it for the end game.

Log in every day: one reward a day lands in the Mall tab, on a 28-day calendar. Collect them: rewards left in Merged Inventory expire after 2 weeks.

5Home town quests (Lv1-10)

In your home town (all races except Triton and Aegis), find the quest giver below (your town Gatekeeper; for Dhanus the Stygia Entrance Guard) and take "The Beginning of the Legend". Three quests take you from Lv1 to Lv10: hunt 5 easy monsters, hunt 5 tougher ones, then "To the Quarry".

Triton players follow a story chain in Triton's Birth (Isothea, Aristandros, Stratonikos) up to Lv10.

Hero players: the Hermoupolis Gate arrival point has your Gatekeeper Aristope, plus Archiphon (Coliseum Gatekeeper), Xenolyte (EXP Restorer), Newbie's Helper and Ione (Arena Cup Gatekeeper).

6Lv10-30: Laurion Crystal Mine

At Lv10, use your Laurion Crystal Mine Portal Stone and talk to Laonikos. He and later Kreousa give kill quests in level order:

1. Kerkops (Lv8-12)
2. Eurynomos (Lv12-16)
3. Skiritai (Lv14-18)
4. Empousa and Mainad (Lv17-26)
5. Skeletons and Lancers (Lv17-30)

At Lv29 Kreousa sends you to Korykian Cave: talk to Chrysophon there for the next quests (Lv30+).

7Lv30-70: where to quest next

Each row is a map whose quests send you after monsters of that level. Pick up the quests in the towns listed, then hunt there.

Ranges overlap on purpose: pick whichever area is closest to your home town.

8Go to Pireas Harbor (the player hub)

Most players gather in Pireas Harbor. Your minimap there may say Sea of the Sirens. Two ways to get there:

1. Talk to the Gatekeeper in your home town and pick Pireas Harbor. The price grows with your level: 27,000 gold at Lv1, 65,500 at Lv30, 221,500 at Lv70.
2. Or buy a Pireas Harbor Entrance Portal Stone (36,000 gold) from a Sundries Merchant (Hermoupolis has one) and use it from your bag.

9What unlocks when

Mounts: some from Lv1, more at Lv30 and Lv50. Hippodrome (arena): Lv30-115. Asphodel Depths: party of up to 6, 3 entries a week.

Guilds: found one from Lv30 at a Guild Manager. You also complete a guild-creation quest. Your welcome pack includes Roles of a Guild Master for it.

10Gold and Hermes Coins

• Gold is earned in game (monsters, quests, selling) and spent at NPCs and Gatekeepers.
• Hermes Coins are bought on the website and spent in the Item Mall. Purchases arrive in Merged Inventory, Mall tab. Playtime does not earn Hermes Coins.
