Talking to Hermes

Hermes is an AI character in HermesWorld Realms. You'll be able to chat with him in-game. Status today: tested in a closed test, not yet open to all players.

How to talk to him

• Whisper him: proven in testing, opening soon. You'll type /w <his character name> <your message>. He replies with "..." straight away, then answers in 1-2 short lines, usually within about 3 seconds.
• In testing, hello, are you there? got "Yes, I'm here. What can I do for you?" back.
• Character names are case-sensitive.
• "Hermes, ..." in normal chat: not yet. A line like Hermes, where should I go next? goes out as an ordinary chat message that everyone nearby sees. Hermes does not answer it yet.
• /hermes ...: unconfirmed. Don't rely on it for now.

What he can and can't do

• He answers questions and chats. He can't trade, give items or gold, follow you, or change anything in your game.
• Keep messages short (one or two sentences). He would rather say he doesn't know than guess.
• If he doesn't reply within about 10 seconds, he's offline; try again later.

Known issue

• In the current client, whispers you receive are labelled "To <name>" instead of "From <name>". The message itself is correct; only the label is wrong. A fix is being prepared for a future client update.
